SS 2002 Fusion Blanc de Meudon Trench Coat
Size IT 40 / S to M
A rare piece from Maison Martin Margiela's Spring/Summer 2002 collection, this trench coat embodies the brand's iconic deconstruction and conceptual fusion design. Iconic Blanc de Meudon color on front, a traditional white pigment used in art and design, this coat juxtaposes classic tailoring with avant-garde sensibilities.
The front is constructed from crisp white cotton, evoking traditional trench coat military references, while the back is made entirely from flowing beige viscose, giving the piece a dramatic, fluid silhouette.
It features a belted waist for adjustable styling, signature exposed seams and raw minimalism typical of Margiela’s early-2000s work. The exaggerated lapels, double-breasted closure, and epaulette details subtly nod to utilitarian trench and safari influences, while the contrast rear panel breaks all conventions.
