Rare vintage Issey Miyake top from the Fall Winter 1989–1990 collection, crafted in black pleated polyester with a highly sculptural, architectural silhouette. The piece features a fitted ribbed pleated bodice contrasted with dramatic voluminous sleeves and a structured cape-like upper panel.

The pleating creates a glossy, almost lacquered texture with deep movement and dimension, giving the piece a striking abstract quality reminiscent of Pierre Soulages’ black monochrome paintings. Designed with an open front neckline, strong sculptural sleeves, and a shaped waist, this top is quite unique.
