A striking Thierry Mugler Fall/Winter 2001 jacket, rendered in metallic silver-grey, the design is built around a dramatic contrast of textures. The upper body and sleeves are constructed in a glossy quilted padded textile, articulated through geometric chevron-shaped quilting across the chest and back.

The lower section transitions into supple bovine leather, cut to closely frame and emphasize the waist in an almost corset-like manner.
The silhouette is exceptionally characteristic of Mugler: a high padded funnel collar, sharply defined shoulders, exaggerated bust, tightly controlled waist and flared lower panels. A wide leather waistband is densely embellished with small metal studs, while additional studding appears over the shoulders. Decorative leather lacing runs vertically through the lower panels and along the cuffs.

Two diagonal zipped chest pockets reinforce the futuristic, utilitarian quality of the design. The lower front is detailed with multiple leather tabs and metal hardware, while the extended cuffs feature adjustable lace-up detailing. A full-length two-way front zipper allows the jacket to be styled with different proportions.
