Rare Martin Margiela menswear jacket from Fall/Winter 2001.
The jacket combines a classic navy pinstripe tailored wool blazer body with contrasting khaki-brown sleeves derived from a utilitarian garment.
The sleeves retain their original construction and finish with brown rib-knit cuffs, creating a deliberate collision between formal tailoring and military/workwear references.
Large black leather patch pockets are applied to the chest and hips, further disrupting the traditional blazer structure.

The result is a particularly strong example of Margiela’s “fusion” vocabulary: existing garment archetypes are combined into a single piece while the traces of their original functions remain visible.

The numbered label has 10 circled, identifying the jacket as Martin Margiela Line 10, the men’s collection. Although the construction incorporates repurposed/second-hand elements and uses methods closely associated with Margiela’s Artisanal practice.

Condition
