A refined grey jacket from Hermès during Martin Margiela’s tenure as artistic director.
The jacket is cut with a clean, softly structured silhouette, featuring a rounded shirt-style collar, lightly defined shoulders and long vertical front panels that create an elongated line through the body. Rather than relying on decorative elements, the design focuses on proportion, construction and fabric, in keeping with Margiela’s restrained approach at Hermès.

The piece is particularly notable for its extensive hand-finished construction. Numerous seams and finishing details are executed by hand, giving the jacket an almost couture-like quality rarely visible from the exterior. The cuffs feature a series of finely worked buttonholes with no sleeve buttons.
The front is currently fastened with five large mother-of-pearl buttons. These buttons are replacements and are not the jacket’s original front buttons. Their natural iridescence works particularly well against the soft grey fabric while remaining visually discreet.

The interior construction is equally refined, with a pale tonal facing and carefully finished seams.
An especially elegant example of Margiela-era Hermès: deceptively simple at first sight, but distinguished by exceptional construction, hand finishing and subtle deviations from conventional tailoring.

Great overall condition.
The front buttons have been changed from the original ones.
