An exceptional Chanel Spring/Summer 1986 runway jacket, crafted in supple black lambskin leather and directly identifiable with the version presented in the house’s SS 1986 show.
The design translates classic Chanel tailoring into leather: a sharply constructed double-breasted blazer silhouette with exaggerated peak lapels, a slightly dropped shoulder line and a fitted waist. Multiple rows of tonal topstitching trace the collar and lapels, emphasizing the architecture of the jacket and giving the leather a particularly graphic finish.

The front is detailed with gold-tone Chanel buttons, embossed with the house insignia and “CHANEL PARIS / COCO CHANEL” lettering. Two high-set patch pockets at the chest are secured with matching gold buttons, while each cuff is finished with three additional buttons. The contrast between the deep dark navy leather and gold hardware is highly characteristic of Chanel’s bold mid-1980s aesthetic.

The same jacket was worn by Iman, styled with white shorts, oversized white sunglasses and contrasting accessories.
